So, how far have we got in one week? We came up with the idea last Friday, see the previous blogpost. So, here are some screenshots of progress so far…

Looking prettier, but there’s still work to do on graphics – we are focusing on getting the author writing journey organised first, then we’ll make it look much prettier. So we have pitlanes (columns) – which would be your chapters. Then you can add post-its, that are colour coded to create a hierarchy – your outline, like you would in Word, but graphically, visually – the author canvas let’s you organise your thoughts.

The post-its can be colour coded by a simple click so you can see what stage each part of you book has reached. The pitlanes – chapters – take their colour coding from the post-its – a triage system – so you can see at a glance how far you’ve got with your writing.

Now it starts to get interesting – you can output your book into a word or open office document.

And you end up with a structured document, like so!

Easy, peasy! Of course, there’s still plenty to do before we open the doors to beta testers. But we’re making rapid progress on our MVP (minimum viable product) and will be looking for testers really soon. If you want to become a beta tester sign up now and you’ll get a free Agile Author Canvas to download to get you started on your writing.
